SofTec Solutions, Inc. (www.softecinc.com) is currently seeking qualified applicants for the position of Intermittent Part-time Help Desk Support Specialist located in Sterling, VA.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Tier 1, Help Desk Support
• Tier 2 Desktop, Handheld and Laptop Support
• Install and uninstall computer hardware, peripherals and software
• Resolve PC and laptop hardware and software VHD tickets/problems
• Provide computer hardware/software support for new, moved or terminated
employees
• Ensure availability of hardware, peripheral spare parts and supplies inventory
support
• Provide complete hardware and e-waste life-cycle management support
from procurement, inventory, through surplus and recycling
• Provide audiovisual (AV) presentation setup and support for meetings
and major events
• Additional duties may be assigned as needed.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• A minimum of two years hands on experience of computer
hardware/software install, upgrade and troubleshooting, supporting
various operating systems, connectivity issues, utility programs, and
help desk support.
• Have at least two years Windows 98/2000/XP image development using
imaging software. Work experience must show Windows image creation
in a Novell network environment.
• Have at least two years hands of work experience of Microsoft Windows
operating platforms and experience with ghosting software.
• Ability to provide Tier 1 Support for Backup on Help Desk.
• Experience with Dell PC and HP printer hardware.
• Ability to provide Tier 2 Support.
• Experience with management of problem tracking systems, resolution
metrics, and knowledge bases for technical transfer.
• Knowledge of customer service concepts and practices.
• Well-organized, able to self prioritize in a multi-tasking environment.
• Demonstrate good verbal, interpersonal and written communication
skills.
