Accounting Specialist - SofTec Solutions

SofTec Solutions, Inc. is currently seeking qualified applicants for the Accounting Specialist position located at the corporate office in Englewood, CO. This is a full-time regular position.
POSITION PURPOSE:
Responsible for providing accounting, payroll and clerical support to the Accounting/Payroll Department.
General pre-payroll support - 25%
Accounts Payable and general accounting support – 75%
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES
• Performs various pre-payroll steps including data entry and verification of payroll deductions (i.e. insurance benefits, taxes, etc.)
• Reviews and approves electronic time sheets. Follows up with Project Managers and employees regarding corrections.
• Prepares monthly benefits billing report and submits payments to insurance vendors.
• Enters AP bills (where); prepares and sends Accounts Payable checks and follow-up on issues as needed.
• Assist in basic accounting tasks including month end and year end tasks such as processing 1099, help in completion of audit.
• Routine record keeping and bank reconciliations.
• Maintains files, including filing of general ledger journal vouchers, accounts payable documentation, and other miscellaneous filings.
• Prepares a variety of documents, reports, and records on as needed basis..
• Keys daily worksheets to the general ledger system and reconciles before month-end close
• Prepares requisitions for office, computer, and routine supply purchases.
• Assumes responsibility for effectively researching, tracking, and resolving (or properly referring) accounting or documentation problems and discrepancies.
• Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective communication and coordination with Company personnel and with management.
• Maintains regular contact with other departments and employees to obtain and convey information and/or to correct transactions.
• Additional accounting and clerical duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of 2-3 years related accounting and payroll experience required
• Deltek Time & Expense experience preferred
• Knowledge of ADP PayEx system
• GCS Premier experience a plus
• Superior clerical skills
• Problem solver
• Must be very detail oriented
• Quick learner
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
